In 2019, Odell Haggins (who was serving as FSU's interim head coach for the second time in his career) led the Seminoles to a 38-31 win over the Boston College Eagles.

In 2020, FSU did not play BC. The Seminoles fielded the nation's youngest team as freshmen and sophomores made up 75% of FSU's roster, the highest underclassmen percentage in the country.
