Florida State played in a football bowl for the 38th time in the last 40 seasons. Over that span, the Seminoles lead the country in seasons with a postseason appearance, ranking ahead of Michigan which has appeared in the postseason 37 times since 1980.
Florida State’s 26 bowl wins since the 1980 season are the most in the country. Alabama, which has two CFP championship game wins in addition to semifinal wins those years, is 2nd with 25 victories and Georgia ranks 3rd with 23.
FSU is one of only eight schools, and one of two from the ACC, to appear in all seven bowl games – Sun, Cotton, Orange, Rose, Sugar, Citrus and Gator – that date back to the 1954 season.

According to the NCAA, Florida State played the 2nd-toughest schedule in the ACC and the 4th-toughest schedule in the nation in 2018. The Seminoles’ 11 FBS opponents, which included two of the four teams in the College Football Playoff and eight that were ranked at some point in the season, combined for a .654 cumulative winning percentage.
